ESSEX — Police received a report of a past assault and battery from a Main Street business at 10:15 p.m. Friday.

The reporting party claimed that someone had assaulted him and taken his ticket for a concert featuring musicians J. Geils and James Montgomery at the Woodman's function hall, but the party left before police were done speaking with him and officers took no further action.

A male and female were also asked by police to leave the function hall behind Woodman's at 10:45 p.m. Friday. Officers described the problem as disorderly conduct.

Sherrilyn Dolan, 46, of 56 Arbor St., Wenham, was arrested and charged with drunken driving at 1:12 a.m. Saturday. She was pulled over for erratic operation, then charged for drunken driving and a marked lanes violation when officers decided she was inebriated. Dolan was released on personal recognizance later that night.

Police received a report of a domestic disturbance in a car on Choate Street at 12:51 a.m. Sunday. On arrival, the male and female who called were in their home and said they had an argument but no physical contact was made. Officers spoke to them and advised them of their rights but took no further action.

Police and an ambulance responded to 234 John Wise Ave. for a 90-year-old male who needed medical assistance at 1:55 Sunday afternoon. He was transported to Addison-Gilbert Hospital for further evaluation.

Police received a report of a power outage on Southern Avenue at 3:57 p.m. Sunday, but officers found nothing wrong when they responded to the area.

A circuit breaker was reported down on Forrest Street near Southern Avenue at 8:06 Sunday night, and police notified the National Grid.

Police received a report of a man riding his bicycle in the middle of the road at 8:42 p.m., but he was gone on arrival.

Police responded to Story Street after a report came in from someone who had heard the sound of gunshots at 9:40 p.m. Sunday. Police searched diligently but found nothing and took no further action.

Officers stood by the Causeway in downtown Essex at 10:42 p.m. Sunday as it started to flood, but as the road was not completely covered it did not need to be shut down.

An unknown man wandered into the police station at 4:30 a.m. yesterday, claiming to be lost. Police found no suspicious activity and helped the man call a taxi, which he took to Revere.
