A Gloucester man was sentenced to probation on multiple charges stemming from two motor vehicle theft incidents.

Evin Durgin, 21, of 2 Kent Road, Gloucester, was sentenced to three years probation after pleading guilty to charges of motor vehicle larceny, felony breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property stemming from a March incident. Durgin also pleaded guilty to charges of malicious destruction of property stemming from a May incident.

Durgin admitted to police detectives to stealing a car from Whitehead Motors in March. According to police reports, Durgin said he and an accomplice broke into the Poplar Street repair shop after leaving a party on Cherry Street. Durgin then dumped the car near Wingaersheek Beach; an estimated $3,600 worth of damage was done to the car.

Durgin also confessed involvement in a May incident where a car was stolen from Intershell on Commercial Street. Durgin did not steal the vehicle but told police he helped vandalize the vehicle and dispose of the registration plates.

Allison J. Lane, 34, of 28 Patriots Circle, Gloucester, had charges of permitting the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle dismissed so long as she pays $100 in court costs.

Lane was cited in April after she allegedly allowed an unlicensed teen to drive her car; the teen then crashed into a house on Washington Street and attempted to leave the scene.

Luis M. Mauricio, 23, of 16 Endicott St., Lynn, had charges of driving to endanger continued without a finding for one year. Mauricio was also fined $400 for speeding.

Mauricio was cited in April after a State Police LIDAR system clocked him driving south at 103 mph on Route 128.

Jonathan S. Dimaio, 17, of 8 Gaffney St., had charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle continued without a finding for six months.

Dimaio was cited in March after he drove a friend's car while somebody was sitting on the trunk. The person on the trunk was injured when he fell off while the car was moving.
