---- — MANCHESTER — Police said officers received a report of a house painter working with his ladder propped in the roadway on Central Street Tuesday about 9:03 a.m.

The painter complied when police told him to move the ladder from the street to the sidewalk.

Police assisted a person whose car had run out of gasoline at the intersection of Arbella and Rosedale streets Tuesday about 7:44 a.m., according to police.
