If residents are planning on a second round of trick-or-treating tonight, city officials say they should be careful of debris that the storm left on the roads.
Mayor Carolyn Kirk had asked residents to celebrate the Halloween tradition last Sunday, as the city braced for then-Hurricane “Sandy.” The storm, however, passed through the city Monday and Monday night, with its last remnants felt on Tuesday. So Kirk said she and city officials also expect trick-or-treaters will be on the roads tonight – which is Halloween and the traditional trick-or-treat night.
She said residents should be careful of debris left by the storm on roadways and respect residents who might still be without power — and without candy.
”We expect people will be out (trick or treating),” Kirk said, “but I don’t know how much candy will be left.”
