Rockport Police/Fire: 'Missing' student found within minutes

ROCKPORT — A grandmother phoned police Wednesday at 4 p.m. after her granddaughter had not returned from the Rockport High School, police said.

Police said the student was found around 4:15 p.m. on Lanes Farm Way.

Thursday at 9 a.m., police and firefighters responded to Doyle Cove Road after arching wires were reported near a business. Police said an outside light fixture was on fire; crews were at the scene for about 15 minutes.

Thursday at 1 a.m., police checked a Whistlestop Mall business after a door was found open. Officers secured the area, and said that everything appeared in order.

Thursday at 7:40 a.m., a Gannon Court resident was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.
