---- — ESSEX — Town police are continuing to investigate a case stemming from what they say was a 1 p.m. Wednesday report of stolen property at Essex Elementary School.

Police said the property, reportedly a cell phone, was later recovered, but the investigation is continuing.

Tuesday around 5:30 p.m., a resident came into the police station to report a past domestic incident in which clothes had not been returned to her. Police said the clothes were brought to the station.

Police responded to a call of an allegedly suspicious motor vehicle on Forest Avenue Tuesday just after 1 p.m. Police said that, according to a neighbor, somebody was taking pictures of a house. Officers are looking into the issue.

Thursday, police said there was a notebook stolen out of a Main Street car around 6:30 a.m.

Police notified the Department of Public Works of a possible sewer break in the area of Ice House Lane Wednesday at 5:10 p.m.
