The Gloucester Daily Times aims to be accurate. If you are aware of a factual error in a story, please call Times Editor Ray Lamont at 978-283-7000 x3438.

In a Page 1 story headlined “City Scores are split on MCAS,” published in Thursday, the Times reported that 56 percent of third-graders at East Gloucester Elementary School scored proficient or higher on the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System tests.

Actually, 86 percent of students scored proficient or higher on the test. The number the Times reported came from data provided by the school district.
