---- — ESSEX — Police recovered a small amount of marijuana from four suspects after responding to a call regarding underage people attempting to buy alcoholic beverages.
According to police, a Richdale convenience store customer phoned police at 11:07 p.m. Monday after he suspected someone attempting to buy alcohol was underage. When police arrived, they found an underage resident with three other people, all attempting to buy alcohol.
There are no charges yet for any of the four people involved, but police found a small amount of marijuana among the suspects. The incident is still under investigation, police said Tuesday.
Police were asked by a local hospital to remove an ankle monitoring bracelet from a patient Monday at 10:54 p.m. Police advised the hospital representative to contact a court probation officer.
Police received a call at 7:30 a.m. from the Saugus Police Department about a vehicle belonging to an Essex resident sitting in a driveway. Police notified the owner of the vehicle, who said it was just being repaired.
A cat, hit by a car on Main Street, had to be removed at 10:51 p.m. on Monday. Animal control was called to remove the animal, police were unsure whether the animal survived.
At 11:09 p.m. on Monday, a female Main Street resident was transported to Beverly Hospital.
