Manchester Police/Fire: Resident arrested after hit and run

Manchester Police/Fire

MANCHESTER — Emily McPherson, 49, of Masconomo Street in Manchester was arrested at 9:11 p.m. on Summer Street Sunday.

McPherson faces charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle to endanger and a marked lanes violation.

McPherson was arrested after Manchester police were notified by Gloucester police that McPherson’s car was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in Magnolia.

She was released on $40 personal recognizance bail on Sunday night and was slated to be arraigned Monday morning at Salem District Court.

A car accident on Allen Avenue resulted in damage to a nearby house Friday at 5:36 p.m. Police said the car went out of gear and ran into a nearby garage on Brook Street. Police notified the homeowners; there were no injuries.

Police assisted a driver whose motor vehicle broke down on the southbound side of Route 128 at 10:37 a.m. by exit 16.

Shortly after at 11:04 a.m., another broken down motor vehicle was reported on Route 128 southbound, also by exit 16. Callers reported the car was sitting between the breakdown lane and the right travel lane. Police could not find the car when they arrived.
