ESSEX — Police officers reported troublesome road conditions beginning at 5:26 a.m. Wednesday to the Department of Public Works, and based off police logs, the conditions snagged a number of drivers.
At 7:22 a.m., a vehicle ran into a guard rail on Southern Avenue, but police were able to push the car back onto the road, where the driver drove off. Police said there was minimal damage to the car.
A small vehicle reportedly became stuck off Laurel Lane shortly at around 7:30 a.m. The vehicle had to be removed with a tow truck, but there was minimal damage to the car, police said.
Cars on Apple Street also became stuck in the snow at 7:42 a.m. on Wednesday; Police notified DPW employees, who responded by plowing the street.
A two-car accident was reported on Apple Street shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Police said one operator had to walk to a house to call a tow truck, but there were no injuries and the other motorist was able to drive from the scene.
Police are investigating a case involving some bounced checks that were reported at 10:35 a.m. on Monday.
Police said a business owner had phoned police after a patron had written the allegedly bad checks. Officers said they expect the store patron to be reaching out to the owner to resolve the issue.
At 2:02 p.m. on Tuesday, police observed an erratic driver who was slow to stop for police.
When pulled over, the man said he was not feeling well, and police said he appeared to be disoriented. The man, however, declined medical treatment and left shortly afterward.
