Rockport Police/Fire: Local woman facing drunken driving charge

ROCKPORT — Police arrested a Rockport woman who now faces charges of marked lane violations, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Police received a report of an erratic driver at 11:31 p.m. Thursday, which led to the arrest of Megan Ward, 35, of Clark Avenue.

Police said the caller told police that Ward was driving erratically on Nugent Stretch, and police stopped her car on Pooles Lane.

Firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide detector alert on Gott Street at 12:21 p.m. Thursday; there were no findings.

A Bearskin Neck resident was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester on Thursday at 12:39 p.m. for a possible stroke.
