The Gloucester Community Preservation Committee has committed $298,000 to the Newell Stadium reconstruction project, the same amount of money sought by the Gloucester Fishermen’s Athletic Association, which has coordinated fund-raising for the $3 million-plus project.

A story in the edition of Friday, Jan. 18, listed an incorrect figure as the CPC’s contribution.
