Rockport Ramblings: Rotary Club hosts senior luncheon

On Feb. 14 in the spirit of Valentine’s day, the Rockport Rotary Club will once again be hosting its senior luncheon.

The lunch will be at the Fish Shack from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Rockport Rotary Club; there is no cost.

Bird concert tonight

Tonight, at 8 at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, the Radius Ensemble will be performing bird-inspired music, to coincide with the Cape Ann Winter Birding Weekend.

Tickets start at $19.

Radius Ensemble musicians are professionals committed to connecting with a diverse group of listeners, known for community outreach.

Transfer station forum

Residents could be facing a charge for using the transfer station.

A public hearing, hosted by officials from the town’s Department of Public Works, will be held on the proposal on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the library at 7:15 p.m.

Fees may be set for Transfer Station stickers, beach stickers, parking stickers and other related fees.

Old Sloop, new events

Brooks Williams will be coming to the Old Sloop Coffeehouse on Feb. 15 with Danielle Miraglia as an opener.

The event starts at 7:30 at the First Congregational Church of Rockport.

Both musicians specialize in blues and Americana-style music and range from heartfelt to socially conscious music.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 from the coffeehouse website at oldsloopcoffeehouse.org, at Gloucester Music, and at Toad Hall Bookstore in Rockport. Suggested donation at the door is $12 for adults, $7 for those 65 and older, $5 for those younger than 18, and $24 for a family.
