Rockport Ramblings: DECA fund-raiser is on for Monday

The Rockport High students in the DECA business entrepreneurial program are hoping locals will be glad to get out of the house on Monday for their fund-raiser dinner at the Fish Shack in downtown Rockport from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The meal will feature spaghetti, meatballs, salad and homemade desserts. They are raising money for upcoming state competition for which close to 40 students qualified for the overnight event. Tickets are $8, and will be available at the door.

Rockport Middle School has announced its students of the month for the month of January.

In the sixth grade, Sarah Murphy was recognized for her dependability, kindness and empathy toward others. Kaley Lattof was recognized as the student of the month for the seventh grade for her hard work, active learning skills and her respectfulness of others.

In the eight grade, Jameson Kamm was named the student of the month for his leadership among his peers and his academic preparedness.

Due to the storm, Rockport Music has announced that both concerts featuring Cape Ann singer/songwriter Chelsea Berry – scheduled for Friday night and tonight — have been rescheduled for Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2.

Ticket holders will be contacted via e-mail by the Rockport Music box office next week to exchange tickets. Please check their homepage for updates on other concerts this weekend.

Rockport resident Lori Correale, daughter of Rockport artist Joseph J. Correale Jr., has joined the board of directors of the North Shore United Way.
