Manchester Police/Fire: Woman faces drunken driving charge

MANCHESTER — A Beverly woman was charged with drunken driving Thursday night following a motor vehicle stop on the School Street on-ramp for Route 128 southbound.

Officers stopped a vehicle driven by Dale L. Ruhf, 64, of 39 Beaver Pond Road, Beverly, at 9:40 after observing a marked lanes violation.

According to police, Ruhf failed a field sobriety test and was subsequently arrested on charges of drunken driving and the marked lanes violation. She was later released on bail, police added.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Cross Towing.

Rescuers transported a Boardman Avenue woman to Salem Hospital at 4:21 p.m. Thursday.
