---- — An Eastern Point man who pleaded guilty in Gloucester District Court to driving after a license suspension this week was ordered to pay $550 in fines and assessments and handed a suspended jail sentence.

Judge Ellen Flatley suspended the six-month jail sentence for Jason Ramalho, 30, until next year, ordering Ramalho not to drive unless he is licensed.

Police had arrested Ramalho in April after stopping him for driving on Route 128 South with a defective headlight. Ramalho was also found responsible for the lights violation.

Gary Ziegler Jr., a 44-year-old Rowley man, pleaded guilty to a second offense of drunken driving, and Judge Flatley ordered him to pay $600 in fees and assessments.

Ziegler, who had been driving on Main Street in Essex with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.19, according to police, was ordered to attend alcohol education programs, follow probation terms until next year. He will have his license revoked for 60 days.
