Seniors treated to barbecue

ROCKPORT — It’s an event that annually marks the end of summer for local seniors: a barbecue outside the American Legion Hall.

This year though a few of the seniors got a little wet. The morning was a bit overcast, but the sun kept trying to come through, and organizers decided to keep the barbecue outside under tents. But a quick deluge had seniors ducking for cover before it ended, and the sun came out.

Besides the meal, the seniors were treated to some entertainment by the Uptown Girls.

The barbecue was sponsored by the Rockport Council on Aging and the Den Mar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
