A homeless Gloucester man reported to police at 8:10 p.m. Friday that while he was collecting cans on Stacy Boulevard, a fellow can collector driving a small black truck pulled up next to him and told him he could not have those cans because the cans on the Boulevard were his jurisdiction. The man was told to contact police if he had any further problems.
A Gloucester woman was not injured after driving into a fire hydrant on Eastern Avenue at 6:25 p.m. Friday. According to police reports, the woman became distracted when pizzas that she just picked up slid off of the passengers seat; she then veered into the hydrant. The car was towed from the scene with front end damage. The fire hydrant was inspected and was working fine.
Police were called to Gould Court at 11:20 p.m. Friday on reports that several youths were fighting in the street. When police arrived, a witness told them half of the youths fled in a car and the other half ran off. There was no description of the suspects and no victim according to police.
A Harrison Avenue woman was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by rescue squad at 7:50 a.m. Saturday. According to police reports, the woman said she took too many prescription drugs.
A Marsh Street man reported to police at 10:25 a.m. Saturday that several items were stolen from the garage of his home that is currently for sale. According to police the items cost a combined $900.
A Washington Street woman reported to police at 2:50 p.m. Saturday that her house was entered sometime Saturday morning. According to police reports, there was no sign of forced entry but the woman reported jewelry, her purse and keys missing; she also said her rooms were "disturbed." Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A Cherry Street man was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by rescue squad at 3 p.m. Saturday after sustaining a small laceration on his head from a fall.
An East Main Street woman who told rescuers she took too many pills was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by rescue squad at 5:20 p.m. Saturday.
A Gloucester woman reported to police at 11:30 p.m. Saturday that her car was struck while parked in the Tedeschi's parking lot earlier that night. Police have no suspects or witnesses.
A Friend Street woman reported to police at 8:30 a.m. yesterday that her car was hit while parked on her street sometime overnight. According to police reports the length of the drivers side was dented and scratched. Police have no suspects.
Police are investigating the vandalism of a Pleasant Street resident's car sometime Saturday night or yesterday morning. No further information was available.
