ESSEX — A businesswoman reported a larceny to police at 2:52 p.m. Thursday.
The co-owner of the Essex Bird Shop & Pet Supply Inc. at 121 Eastern Ave., Route 133, reported that a birdhouse located outside the shop was stolen sometime earlier in the day.
The owner said staff puts the birdhouse outside when the shop opens and brings it indoors when the store closes. The birdhouse was valued at $45.
Working together with other Gloucester High School Project Adventure and Project Adventure Japan members to keep a platform balanced during activities are Miranda Schneider, in green, Takashi Monden, in red, and Sabrina Thompson, seated, at right.
Last year, a Gloucester High teacher and one of the minds behind the Project Adventure movement led adventure-based counseling with students and teachers in post-tsunami Japan.
On Wednesday, a group of those Project Adventure instructors from Japan visited Jim Schoel's classroom at the high school's Worstrel Center on the Annisquam River to meet his students.
