Prospect Street paving project brings parking ban

After a winter of gas main and sewer line repairs forced the tearing up of Prospect Street, the city is going to start paving the street Wednesday.

Starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Public Works Department contractors will begin resurfacing the street in a move that will not close Prospect to traffic, but will prevent residents and visitors from parking, Public Works Director Mike Hale said in a prepared statement.

The Prospect Street parking ban will be in effect from 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. while the paving is in process, according to Hale's announcement. The work, according to the statement, is weather dependent.

"We recognize the inconvenience to neighbors and motorists and will take all necessary steps to minimize the disruption," the DPW statement reads.
