Busy days ahead in Cape Ann towns

---- — Here’s some things coming your way in the Cape Ann towns.

Rockport

The Rockport Recreation Department is running a men’s yoga class on Monday nights, starting Oct. 7. Anyone can participate for a $5 drop-in fee, or six classes for $30, the classes are from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. at the Rockport Community House.

Come hear former NBA first-round draft choice and youth sports speaker Bob Bigelow speak Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Rockport High School auditorium. Bigelow will talk about organized youth sports. Bigelow played with the Boston Celtics, Kansas City Kings and San Diego Clippers.

A Utah author’s book, centered in Rockport, will be available for free as an e-book on Amazon.com from Oct. 7 to 11.

M.L. Gardner’s book, “1929,” being offered free, is the beginning of series; the latest, “Drifter,” was released this week.

Manchester

The Manchester Board of Health is offering flu shots for residents 18 or older. Those interested should bring a health insurance card and wear a short-sleeved shirt.

The American Legion post, in the rear of the municipal parking lot near Town Hall, will host a clinic Monday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Town Hall will host flu shots Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Essex

The TOHP Burnham Library closed Friday for a month for renovation; new paint, lighting, carpet, furniture, window treatments and shelving will be installed.

The Field of Dreams will get some sprucing up today. Student members of Manchester Essex Regional High School’s Green Clean will be at the park from 3 to 4:30 p.m. to do some cleanup work.
