Rockport Police/Fire: Crash victim conscious and alert, police say

Rockport Police/Fire

ROCKPORT — Police said Wednesday that the woman involved in the single-car accident on Railroad Avenue Tuesday was conscious and alert after the crash.

Witnesses at the scene said they believed that the woman suffered a seizure at the time of the crash, but authorities have not confirmed that. The woman was taken to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, but there was no word on her condition, given that police have thus far declined to identify her.

A hit-and-run accident was reported to police Tuesday at 12:49 p.m. on Main Street. Police said one motorist backed into another, but officers described it a “a minor accident.”

A woman from Landmark Lane was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., police said.
