---- — ESSEX — Police said a Forest Avenue man is facing charges after officers responded to a report of domestic assault in progress Wednesday at 10:42 p.m.

Police said William Kiester, 43, of Forest Ave., is facing one count of domestic assault and battery.

Wednesday at 6:22 p.m., police said unknown motorists apparently opened or broke through a gate to the Essex Elementary School, and proceeded to drive on and damage the nearby school field.

Police said the incident is under investigation.

Essex police officers notified Gloucester police about an erratic motorist in the area of Eastern Avenue and Main Street Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. Essex police could not find the vehicle when they responded.

A deer was struck and killed Thursday around 6:30 p.m. near Lanes Road and Western Avenue; police said there was at least $1,000 worth of damage to the vehicle.

Police said a motorist walked into the police station Thursday around 8:30 a.m. to report being involved in a minor car accident on Western Avenue.
