Manchester Police/Fire: Chelsea woman faces Manchester charges

MANCHESTER — A 31-year-old woman from Chelsea was arrested in Manchester Monday at 2:04 p.m. for allegedly driving too fast through a school zone and driving without a license.

Police charged Marcia Gomes after stopping her for speeding on Lincoln Street in front of the high school, according to police.

Police are investigating an incidence of cash stolen from a vehicle that was parked at the Essex Country Club Monday about 2:24 p.m.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from a wallet, which was left inside an unlocked vehicle parked at the club, police said. Police would not disclose the amount of cash due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

A Highland Avenue woman was transported to Beverly Hospital because she was having an allergic reaction Monday about 10:05 p.m., according to police.

National Grid disconnected a power line on Pleasant Street Tuesday about 9:11 a.m., after a tractor trailer truck had snagged the line, pulling it to a point where it was loosely hanging over the road, according to police.

Police said an “elderly” male from Proctor Street was transported to Beverly Hospital after fainting Tuesday about 10:44 a.m., according to police.
