---- — ESSEX — Police issued summonses Tuesday to 15 minors for possessing alcohol and an additional summons to one of the 15 for providing a place for minors to drink alcohol, stemming from an incident Friday when police broke up an underage drinking party on Apple Street about 9:57 p.m.

The officer discovered the party when responding to a complaint of an unknown vehicle parked in a neighbor’s driveway. When the officer arrived with back-up, a number of people were running from the house, police said.

The 16-year-old girl whose parents own the house was charged with both possessing alcohol and providing a place for minors to drink, according to police. Police said the parents were apparently out of town.

Members of Fire Department brought infrared cameras to the scene to help locate the teens who had run into the woods. Police said the cameras and searches were used because it was a cold night, and authorities wanted to locate the teens and ensure their safety.
