Essex Police/Fire

ESSEX — A woman called police shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday to report seeing what she believed to be human feces to the left of the beach area at Chebacco Lake.

She said it was unsanitary and that she was going to also notify the Board of Health.

However, an officer who went to the beach to investigate the report discovered that what had appeared to the woman to be human waste was actually a water-logged pine cone.

A Chebacco Terrace resident called police at 4:45 Wednesday afternoon to report she had been bitten by a neighbor's dog.

Police responded to a Southern Avenue residence at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday on a report of an ongoing domestic dispute. Two people at the home were engaged in a verbal argument. Police spoke to the individuals and peace was restored.
