Essex Police/Fire: Plane dumps waste onto Essex property

ESSEX — No joke: What appears to be human waste rained from the sky on Friday.

A Seventh Avenue resident reported to police that an airplane had dumped human waste onto his property as it flew overhead.

Police responded to the residence about 7:36 a.m. Friday morning and reported human feces as well as what police described as a “blueish liquid” on several trees, the driveway, the patio, patio furniture and in the residents’ pool.

Police took photos and contacted the town Board of Health, notifying the board to survey the situation and guide the residents in sanitizing the area.

Calls to the Board of Health were not returned by press time. A 65-year-old Essex man has been arrested on his second drunken driving offense.

Ronald Gauthier of Coral Hill Road was arrested at his home Friday about 1:05 p.m. and arraigned on the charge Monday morning in Gloucester District Court.

Another driver noted that Gauthier was driving erratically and followed Gauthier from Western Avenue onto Pond Street, to Wood Drive and onto Coral Hill Road, while calling police to report the erratic driving, according to police.
