Gloucester: Paul Schwartz, a member of the Gloucester Gig Rowers, prepares the club's new pilot gig boat, the Gannet, for its inaugural run through the waters of Gloucester Harbor on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28, at the Gloucester Maritime Heritage Center. The 32-foot boat took boatbuilder David Condino and volunteers more than four years to build, using traditional cedarwood lapstrake construction, and should be easily spotted in the water due to its bright yellow color and long oars. The rowing club has about 60 members and is open to anyone 13 and older. Photo by Matt Viglianti/Gloucester Daily Times Sunday, October 28, 2007
