NEW BEDFORD (AP) — A 64-year-old man has died after falling overboard when two boats collided in Buzzards Bay.
Coast Guard officials said the accident happened yesterday around 1:45 p.m. when the 60-foot Reason collided with a 30-foot sailboat called the Padanaram.
The victim, identified by prosecutors as David Walsh of Dartmouth, fell off the Padanaram and was picked up by a Coast Guard crew.
A spokesman for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office said Walsh was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford but died. State police are investigating the crash.
