The “Rebellion” memorial in Gloucester's Riverdale section, saluting this area's Civil War veterans, has been restored to its former glory — compliments of a Gloucester teen and his Eagle Scout project.

Robert Trott, 17, and other volunteers, including his father Sean Trott and Scout Leader Manuel Quesava, began work on the memorial nearly two years ago, and finished off the effort with painting and some landscaping work at the site over the weekend — in time for Tuesday's commemoration of Veterans Day.

A formal re-dedication of the memorial is planned for May 2, 2015.
