The Friends of Seacoast holiday bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. is being billed by organizers this year as better than ever.

The Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is located at 292 Washington St. in Gloucester, just behind Addison Gilbert Hospital.

The holiday fair features 15 professional vendor tables along with a bake sale, cookie walk, raffle, white elephants, and a visit with Santa. The community is welcome, and all are also welcome to bring their children for a visit with Santa.

Alison Cox, the activities director at Seacoast, said the items donated to the white elephant table this year are impressive.

"We have new things, old things, antiques, collectibles, some Mariposa items, crafts made by family and friends, jewelry, books, and an endless amount to the wonderful things," she said.

The popular cookie walk provides an opportunity for shoppers to buy just a few cookies or buy by the pound.

"The community, the staff, and family and friends do the baking for the cookies, and they include the popular Italian cookies," said Cox.

The bazaar presentations start in the front lobby, and continues into the dining room and the library.

Cox applauded the efforts of the Friends of Seacoast for their service.

"They are the most marvelous group of people who give selflessly of their time to contribute and help provide funds for the residents' activities," she said. "This enables us to take trips and go to restaurants, and we give gifts at mother's day and father's day. It helps with providing special entertainment, outings, dinner theater and special parties, and it is all made possible by the Friends of Seacoast."
