MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — John (Bernie) Gero, 93, beloved husband of the late Mary (Manning) Gero, passed away on Tuesday, July 10th at the Atrium in Danvers. Born in Louisville, Ohio, he is the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Paumier) Gero.
Bernie grew up in Louisville and received graduate degrees at Notre Dame University and MIT. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the United States Navy. For many years, Bernie worked as an engineer at his consulting firm in Manchester.
Surviving Bernie are two sons: John Gero and his wife Karin of Manchester, and Peter Gero of Portland, CT; two daughters: Maureen Terrill and her husband Vincent (Vinny) of Manchester, and Anne Gero of Hamilton; five grandchildren: Patrick, Matthew and Daniel Gero of Portland, CT and Brenden and Sean Terrill of Manchester.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of the family all services are being held privately.
