Gloucester — John B. “Jack” Wright, Jr., 82, husband of Domenica A. (Pizzimenti) Wright, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Golden Living Center.
Born in Gloucester on August 6, 1930, he was the son of the late John B. and Kathleen (Hadley) Wright.
Jack was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the Class of 1947 and had served in the U.S. Air Force.
As a young man, Jack had worked for his father at John B. Wright Fisheries and later owned the business with his brother Eddie until his retirement.
He had worked hard his whole life but enjoyed taking summer vacations with his family going up to his camp in Maine. Following his retirement, Jack and Domenica wintered in Bonita Springs, Fla. He became an avid golfer and they made numerous friendships through the years.
Jack was a long time member of the Elks Lodge and was a member of the Capt. Lester S. Wass Post 98 Gloucester American Legion.
In addition to his wife Domenica, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, David, Eddie and Ruth Thurston.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
