Kenneth A. Doyle, 73, of North Reading, formerly of Gloucester, husband of Joyce (Wulleman) Doyle, passed away peacefully, at home, with his wife at his side, early Friday morning, March 2, 2012.
Kenneth was born in Ipswich, MA, on August 9, 1938, the son of the late Eldridge and Ida (April) Doyle.
He worked for Lepages, in Gloucester, as a tape cutter, for many years, right up to their closing and then was employed by Ellis Engineering until his retirement in 2009.
Ken enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf and surfcasting at various beaches around Cape Ann. Later on in his life he relaxed at home, doing some vegetable gardening, growing tomatoes, peppers and cukes. He always had some sport on the tv, but watching the Pats play was his favorite. Ken was also a lifelong member of the Amvets.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, and had shared thirty four years of marriage; one daughter, Sue Ellis and her husband Bill, of Gloucester, one step-son, Daniel Killpartrick of No. Reading; five grandchildren, Brianna and Kenny Ellis, both of Gloucester, Ian Killpartrick, of No. Reading, Aidan Killpartrick and Nicholas Killpartrick, both of Bradford.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Graveside Service will be held in the Spring St. Cemetery, Essex, on Tuesday, March 6, at 12 noon. A visiting hour will be held prior to the graveside service on Tuesday, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester. Relatives and friends are cordially invited.
