Evlin Rose de la Barre, 19

Gloucester — Evlin Rose de la Barre, 19, beloved daughter of Rose Sheehan of Gloucester and David de la Barre of Magnolia, died peacefully Tuesday, September 18 following a lengthy illness, surrounded by family and friends in a room filled with love, music, and song.

Born October 14, 1992 in Greenfield, she and her family lived in Millers Falls, moved to Cape Cod in 2000, then settled in Gloucester in 2004. She attended Waldorf schools in Hadley, Bourne and Beverly, and graduated from Rockport High School in 2011. A member of the theater tech crew, she received awards for prop designs. Evlin also enjoyed photography, dance and playing guitar.

She worked at the Seven South Street Inn in Rockport.

Dearly loved by many who remember her as a confident, strong and loyal friend, Evlin provided inspiration as she remained positive throughout her illness.

In addition to her parents, Evlin is survived by her brothers, Owen Baines and Colin de la Barre; her grandfather, Richard Sheehan; and her stepmother, Sara de la Barre, all of Gloucester; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and her much-loved Corgi, Trystan.

ARRANGEMENTS: Donations in memory of Evlin can be made to the Boston Ronald McDonald House or to the Child Life Services program at Boston Children's Hospital.
