Danvers — Mary G. (White) Hawkins, 80, passed away surrounded by her family on September 23, 2012, at Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Bernard Hawkins. Born on Aug. 15, 1932, in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Mary (Santarella) White. She was raised and educated in Malden and graduated from Malden High School. Mary graduated from Salem State College in 1999 with her bachelor's degree in Sports, Fitness and Leisure. She taught classes at the former Racquet Time Health Club in Danvers. Most recently, Mary had been employed at the Wellness Center of the North Shore Medical Center in Salem.
She is survived by her children, Wendy Hawkins Howell of Gloucester, Shawn Hawkins and his wife Ann of Danvers, Michelle Hawkins of Danvers, Noelle Hawkins of Gloucester and Bernard Hawkins and his wife Jodyann of North Andover; sisters, Eileen Yaikas of Peabody and Elaine Elvin of Seabrook, N.H., 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, William and David White.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, at Maple Street Congregational Church, Maple St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Wadsworth Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 p.m at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
