Rockport, MA — Eleanor (Kirchner) Doherty, 81, of Rockport, formerly of Bedford, passed away on August 4, 2013, at the Salem Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. Doherty.
Eleanor was a graduate of Arlington High School. As a young lady, she worked for the Lexington School Department.
She is survived by her six children, Sharon Doherty of Acton, Gayle Doherty Beals of Salem, Christopher Doherty of Somerville, Tina Ford of Chelmsford, Michael Scott of Davidson, N.C., Robert Scott of Needham; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Kirchner of Billerica.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 7, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Joachim’s Church, Broadway, Rockport, with a burial to follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
