Mr. John Amero 62 of Gloucester, beloved husband of Rosmary (Vialabos) Amero died peacefully at his home following a long illness with his wife and son at his bedside.
Born in Gloucester, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary B. (Ailey) Amero. He was raised and educated in Rockport and was a graduate of Rockport High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, John, served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Navy, John was associated with the Nuclear Power Training Unit.
Mr. Amero had been employed as a consultant in the plastics industry. He traveled all over the world providing consulting services to privately owned plastics companies.
Having always had an active mind, John enjoyed reading and building and fixing computers. He was a dedicated husband, father and brother who will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife of twenty one years, John is survived by his sons, Alex Amero of Gloucester and Sean Amero of Newton, his daughter, Nicole Amero of Newton, his three sisters, Cindy Coll of Gloucester, Diane Amero of NY and Wendy Creighton of Swampscott and several nieces and nephews.
