Biagio Joseph “Joe” Cellucci, 84, of Bradenton, FL and Gloucester, MA passed away peacefully on March 8, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in San Donato, Italy on August 9, 1927, the son of Cecidio and Lucia (Pellegrini) Cellucci, and came to Brighton, MA as a young boy through Ellis Island. He enlisted in the Navy at 17 years of age and served in both WWII and the Korean War on aircraft carriers, the last being the USS Kula Gulf. He was a policeman in Gloucester and then a letter carrier with the US Postal Service until his retirement.
Joe was survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy (Davis), and his children, Col. (Ret) Stephen Cellucci and his wife Debbie, Joanne Dineen and her husband William, Christine Leveille and her husband Wayne, Joseph Cellucci and his wife Terry and Jerry Cellucci and his wife Eileen. Joe left a legacy of ten grandchildren (Shauna, Erin and her husband Rich, Tracy, Valerie, Joshua, Kyle, Kameron, Daniel, Maggie and Kevin) and one great-grandchild, Jackson. He is also survived by his sister Donata Paulino and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was an avid sports fan. He loved to play golf and go to the dog track. After retirement, he split his time between Florida and Gloucester and helped make many award winning chowders at JT Farnhams Restaurant.
