Rockport — Louise Toomey, 86, of Rockport, passed away on the evening of Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital. Louise was born in Gloucester, on August 16, 1926, the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Sheehan) Toomey. “Bea” as she was affectionately known, took great pride in telling people that she lived her life in Rockport, the town that she loved.
She had a great affection for all types of animals and always had a cat or two in her home. The love and comfort of her animals brought her joy beyond measure.
She is survived by her nieces, Cynthia Bolger of Wilbraham, Nancy Lobik and her husband, Mark of Belchertown, Judith Ruhlig and her husband, John, of Stuart, Fla.; nephew, Stephen Bolger and brother-in-law, Philip Bolger, both of Springfield, and many great nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Toomey Bolger.
ARRANGEMENTS: There are no visiting hours. Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joachim’s Church, Broadway, Rockport, on Thursday, February 14, at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: Massachusetts Humane Society Inc. P.O.
