Poinciana, FL — Beverly A. (Foster) Re, 80, of Poinciana, Fla., formerly of Gloucester, died on July 25, 2013, at her residence in Florida.
She was born in Beverly, Mass., on February 14, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Alfred F. Foster Jr. and Florence C. (May) Foster.
She grew up in Magnolia, lived in Boston for a short time, then moved to West Gloucester, where she and her husband raised their family.
Mrs. Re was a graduate of Gloucester High School. In her younger years, she taught cake decorating to the neighborhood kids. She was artistic with pen and ink, and painted on her windows for each holiday.
Mrs. Re worked at Brown’s Department Store, and was also a picture framer at ChrisLeeDarRand, which was the family business.
She loved to knit, sew and crochet, as well as gardenening and taking care of plants. She also enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, watching old movies, jigsaw puzzles, collecting teddy bears, and being with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Re was a member of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church for many years.
She is survived by a son, Darryl E. Re and his wife, Denise; her daughters, Lee Friend and her husband, Ross, Chrisanne Quinn and her husband, Dan; four grandchildren, Jamie S. Re, Kali Friend, Nick Friend, and Joey Friend; sister-in-law, Marilyn Curcuru and her husband, James; and her former husband, Edmund S. Re. Mrs. Re was predeceased by her son, Randall K. Re.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Gloucester, on Monday, September 23, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
