Rockport — Robert Pritchett Trotter, 84, of Rockport, died peacefully at the Den Mar Nursing Home in Rockport, on Oct. 11, 2013.
Robert was born at home, on August 2, 1929, in Dorchester, Mass., to C. Page and Priscilla R. (Parsons) Trotter. He was delivered by his grandfather, Dr. Frank Parsons.
He graduated from Commerce High School in Boston, Class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and later attended the Massachusetts School of Art for two years.
Robert worked at various art jobs after the war, and retired after many years with the post office.
He married Emma Marie Cooper of Rockport, in 1967, and they lived a happy and quiet life together for over 40 years. Robert will always be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit.
Robert is survived by his dear sister, Anne Hodge of Maine; and his nieces and nephews, Scott Richardson and his wife, Becky Thyre of California, Len Richardson and his wife, Mary Matthews of Gloucester, Kim Sarkin and her husband, Jon, of Rockport, Todd Richardson and his wife, Donna, of Andover; and many more nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Emma Trotter.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 17, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Joachim’s Church, Rockport. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
A visiting hour will precede the Mass on Thursday, from 9 to 10 a.m., in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. The burial will be held in Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport.
