Filomena Bommarito, 93


Gloucester — Filomena (Celano) Bommarito, 93, wife of the late Giuseppe Bommarito (Joe the Barber) of Gloucester, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012.

Born in Balestrate, Sicily on February 19, 1919, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Grazia Celano. She emigrated to the United States in 1956 with her husband and three children, leaving behind her family and friends. She was a wonderful, loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be remembered for her selfless and un-waivering devotion to her family.

She is survived by her son, Graziano Bommarito; her daughters, Grace Bommarito, Catherine McLaughlin and husband Michael; grandchildren, Cristina and husband Matt McCullough and their children, Molly and Owen, Lisa and her husband Stew Mackie and their children, Colby and Layla, Julia and her husband David Rhinesmith and their daughter Eleanor.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Friday, November 2 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home on Saturday, November 3 at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Ann's Church, 70 Pleasant Street, Gloucester at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.

The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester immediately following funeral.
