Rockport, MA — Edith J. (Rundgren) Tuck, 95, beloved wife of the late Albert E. Tuck, Jr. of Rockport and longtime companion of the late Blen Soucie of Rangeley, Maine, passed away on Saturday, July 07, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Rockport on June 28, 1917 to Victor Waldemar and Mamie (Anderson) Rundgren. Edith was an excellent student and talented artist. She graduated from Rockport High School and received her certification in interior design from Rhode Island School of Design. She and her husband, Albert, created and operated Tuckraft Decorating and Tuck Inn in Rockport. She was an avid outdoor enthusiast, skiing and snow machining from a winter camp in Rangeley, Maine. She travelled extensively and, after the sale of Tuck Inn, Edith moved to Rangeley where she continued to live a full life, including riding as the oldest member of the Rangeley Motorcycle Club. Her enthusiasm brightened all our lives.
Edith will be missed by her children Gerald Tuck and his wife Donna (Van der Hoof) of Madison, AL, Kathryn Tuck and her partner Pam Stratton of Rockport, Jaclyn Hansbury and her husband Stephen of Rockport. In addition to her children she is survived by seven grandchildren Stephen Hansbury, Wendy Hansbury, Alden Tuck, Amy Cabrera, Eric Tuck, Julie Carlson, and Adam Tuck and nineteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Albert E. Tuck, Jr., her companion of almost 20 years, Bien Soucie of Rangeley, Maine, two sisters Anna Ryan and Helen Curtis, and two brothers Victor Waldemar Rundgren, Jr and Ivar Rundgren.
