David J. Muise, 22

Killingworth, CT — David Joseph Muise died on December 16, 2012 at the Weiss Hospice and Palliative Care Unit at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT following a 6 month battle with metastatic colon cancer. David fought his battle with dignity and determination with his family constantly by his side.

David was born on November 7, 1990 in Gloucester, MA. He attended Rockport schools through 8th grade and then he moved to Killingworth, CT with his family. He then attended Vinal Technical High School in Middletown, CT where he graduated in 2008 and received a certificate in Electrical Mechanical Technology. David was a hard worker and after graduating high school he became employed at Benny's of Old Saybrook, CT. His co-workers and friends were a huge support to him during his illness.

He never grew tired of exploring the local shoreline. He was truly happy when he had a rod and a reel in his hands. He loved fishing and recently enjoyed a week with his family on Cape Ann where he got to fish every day.

David is survived by his mother Pamela (Chick) Hickey, his step-father Peter Hickey; his sisters Jennifer, Lauren and Sarah Muise and his step-brother and step-sister Jared and Barbara-Ruth Hickey. He also leaves his maternal grandmother Linda Spiewak, and his paternal grandmother Lorraine Muise. Other family members are his aunt Christine Porper and her husband Richard; aunt Sandra Muise; uncle Timothy Muise and several cousins.

David was predeceased by his father Robert Muise, his paternal grandfather Robert L. Muise, and maternal grandfather Arnold Spiewak.

David had a generous and kind spirit, and his strong will was truly inspiring to those who knew him. He never gave up and his memory will live on through the love of his family. He will be greatly missed.
