Margaret E. (Morris) Boutchie, 101

Essex — Margaret E. (Morris) Boutchie, 101, formerly of Chebacco Terrace, Essex died March 15, 2013 following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William A. Boutchie of Essex.

Born in Gloucester, October 19, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Wallace A. and Mary (Standing) Morris. She was raised in West Gloucester where she attended local schools. She married the late William (Billy) Boutchie in 1934 and lived in Essex thereafter. She worked at Lepage’s in Gloucester, the Rufus Choate School in Essex, and Hardy’s Hatchery in Essex amongst other places.

In her later years,she traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada.

She is survived by three children, daughters Jean Ball and her husband Roger of Essex, and Barbara Nelson and her husband Stan of West Palm Beach, Florida, and son, Damon Boutchie and his companion Sheila Griffin of Essex and Tubac, Arizona. Grandchildren are Brian Ball and his wife Patty of Essex, Paula Filias and her husband John of Essex, Sheila Ball of Essex, Kevin Ball and his companion Sharon Stoker of Fryeburg, Maine, Tara Singleton of Tallahassee, Florida and Erin Ray and her husband John of Salem, Mass. She also leaves seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces including Audrey Francis of Ipswich, a long time family member and friend. She was mother-in-law of the late Rita Boutchie; the sister of the late Perley Morris of Gloucester, and Florence Cann and Anne Graham both formerly of Essex.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Whittier Porter Funeral Home, Six High Street, Ipswich, will be from 5 PM until 8 PM Tuesday March 19, 2013. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday March 20, grave side at the Spring Street Cemetery in Essex. Family and friends are respectfully invited.

In lieu of flowers Contributions in her name may be made in her name to the Essex Fire Company Equipment Fund, 24 Martin Street, Essex, MA 01929 or Hospice of the Northshore, 25 Sylvan Street, Suite B102, Danvers, MA 01923.
