Gloucester, MA — Maria D. Vinagre, 92 of Gloucester, wife of the late Jose Pinho Vinagre, passed away on Friday morning, November 9, 2012 at the Golden Living Center.
She was born in Buarcos Figueira da Foz, Portugal on February 26, 1920, daughter of the late Manuel Maria Goncalves and Maria DaSilva.
She attended schools in Portugal. Maria loved being with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking and being a homemaker. She also loved to take long walks, especially to the cemetery.
Maria was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church.
She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons, Jose Silva Vinagre and his wife Maria Antonia Vinagre of Gloucester and Manuel Silva Vinagre and his wife Elvira Vinagre of New Bedford, MA; four grandchildren, John Vinagre and his wife Michelle of Rochester, MA, Christina Machado and her husband Jamie of Florida, Dr. Jose Vinagre and his wife Yuka of Belchertown, MA and Rui Vinagre of New Bedford, MA; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Josh and Arianna Vinagre, Alex, Andrew and Annabelle Machado and Jonathan and Thomas Vinagre.
She was predeceased by her baby sister.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester on Wednesday, November 14, at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home are on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m.
