Mary R. (Lafata) Ciaramitaro, 82 of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was the wife of late Salvatore Ciaramitaro, who passed away in 2005.
She was born on August 13, 1929 daughter of the late Baptista and Rosalie (Frontiero) Lafata
Mary was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, working many years at Seafood Kitchens.
She was an avid bowler, having bowled 10 pin with her husband Salvatore on many leagues.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed day trips to Foxwoods. She also loved poker games with relatives and playing Conasta games with her grandchildren, having taught them how to play to win.
Mary loved gardening, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Francine, wife of Bruce Collins and Rosemary, wife of David Mitchell all of Gloucester; grandchildren, Robert Muise and wife, Megan, Steven Muise and wife, Kerstin all of Florida, M. Ellen Mitchell of Gloucester and David Mitchell and wife, Bethany of Groveland; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Haley Mitchell, Izabella and Mila Muise, and Knox Wheelis; sister, Virginia Gattinella of Washington State; brother, Joseph Lafata of Alabama and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Lafata.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester on Thursday, May 10, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
A visitation will precede the service on Thursday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
