Gloucester, MA — William F. “Bill” Hinckley Sr., 78, husband of Ann R. (Seavey) Hinckley, of Gloucester, died on Sunday morning, July 7, 2013, at Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Beverly.
Born in Gloucester on July 26, 1934, he was the son of the late William and Victoria (Toneatti) Hinckley. He was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1953.
He had worked at the former First National grocery store and later at Stop & Shop for 20 years. He then worked at Gloucester Engineering before retiring.
Bill was a longtime and very active member of the Gloucester and Beverly Lodge of Elks, where he was twice a Past Exalted Ruler at both lodges. He also had served on the International Dory Committee Board for many years.
In addition to his wife Anne, he is survived by his four sons, William F. Hinckley Jr. and wife, Beth, Edward Hinckley and wife, Linda, Robert Hinckley and his significant other, Eric Anderson, Peter Hinckley and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Jessica, Shaun, P.J. Peter Jr., Philip, Jennylee, Joseph, Hope, Danielle, and Kathlyn Hinckley; great-grandchildren, Madison, Landen and Vincent.
ARRANGEMENTS: A private graveside service will be held in Locust Grove Cemetery.
