Gloucester, MA — Mary (Vegliano) Ciaramitaro, 95, wife of the late Captain Carlo Ciaramitaro, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 with family members by her side. Mary was born in Gloucester on August 11, 1917, daughter to the late Captain Ernest (Dutchie) and Rose Vegliano.

Mary was born and raised in Gloucester, grew up on the fort with her 2 brothers and 7 sisters. Her many stories would often include her memories of the times they shared growing up.

Mary and Carlo had three daughters, Alice, Rose wife of the late Augustus Ciulla, and Marie wife of the late Robert Repetto. They spent 58 joyous years of marriage together before Carlo’s passing on June 8, 1993. Together they enjoyed entertaining their family and friends for the holidays and Carlo’s many impromptu gatherings. Always in the kitchen, Mary was a proud cook, loved her family, and made certain that everyone felt at home with a hot meal always ready for whoever walked in the door, “mangia! mangia!”. Mary and Carlo enjoyed some of their later years together in naples,Florida during the winter months.

In addition to her children Mary is survived by six grandchildren Lawrence Ciulla and his wife Kathy, Rosemarie (Ciulla) Cranston and her husband Sean, Carla (Repetto) Andrews, David Repetto and his wife Whitney, Jeffrey Repetto, and Leslie Repetto; great-grandchildren Meghan (Ciulla) Frontiero and her husband William, Carla (Sawyer) O’Connor and her husband Daniel, Jamie Foster, Lydia and Evan Andrews, Sienna and Carissa Repetto, David, Owen and Micah Repetto; and 3 great-great- grandchildren Logan, Blake, and Riley. Mary had a special place in her heart for Anthony Malaquias and Gus MacIntosh. She is also survived by sisters Vincie Re, Rose Mendes, Grace Mione, Antoinette (Dolly) Warren, Elizabeth(Betty) Kennie, and brother Sebastian(Busty) Vegliano. She is predeceased by her brother Frank Vegliano, and sisters Margaret Ragusa and Josephine Langley.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Ann’s Church on Saturday, December 29th at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend.

A visiting hour will precede the funeral mass on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.

The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
